Fake People Magazine

If you’ve often wondered who announces promotions internally at Capital One, and whether they have fun with it or not, it’s ME and I DO!
In an effort to re-think what “celebration” means inside a corporate inbox, I created a fake People Magazine with multiple articles, including having the promotees ask a friend or family member to describe what they do for a living, and publishing those text message responses. I laid out the content and had versions professionally printed and mailed to the promotees as a memento. The digital version spread virally inside the company, with the Director of Corporate Communications declaring it was, “Maybe the BEST thing I’ve EVER seen at Capital One!” (And do you remember those David Spade commercials?! According to one woman, this was even better.)
